Move Hyderabad is a citizen-led campaign founded on a simple truth: no great city can function well unless people can move safely, conveniently and affordably. Led by the Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR), a public-policy think tank, the campaign seeks to place Hyderabad’s mobility problems firmly in public discourse and policy.
Hyderabad’s rapid growth is welcome. But growing congestion, inadequate footpaths and the declining share of public transport are imposing a heavy and increasing burden on citizens—in lost time, income, productivity and quality of life. These outcomes are neither inevitable nor beyond remedy.
Move Hyderabad enables citizens to document and map their everyday mobility experiences, converting individual hardship into credible public evidence that can inform policy and public action.
With informed citizen participation, stronger public transport, safer streets and coordinated urban governance, Hyderabad can become a more accessible, liveable and productive city.
